Response Scale
Design response scales to be easy to use, unbiased, exhaustive and sensitive
Multi-choice question response scales should be:
Easy to use: It is obvious what the choices mean
Unbiased: The choices do not imply a preferred answer
Exhaustive: The choices cover all possible user answers
Sensitive: The choices produce varied user responses.
Studies suggest that while more options give more information, above about 5-7 options, scale sensitivity and reliability increase little.
