Research Contribution
Distinguish the value this research adds, apart from what others have done
An academic publication should state its research contribution, i. e. what it adds that is new. It should be clear what ideas come from others, and what are your own. The contribution could be to add knowledge currently lacking, to resolve a theory conflict, to specify more detail about that already known, or to summarize current work. Don't leave readers confused regarding the publication's contribution, i. e. answer the question "What value does this paper add?"
